Recommended Jeonju Bibimbap Restaurants

As a local resident, I recommend top three Jeonju Bibimbap restaurants in Jeonju.

As a Jeonju local, I have eaten at all three restaurants dozens of times. In my opinion, the taste is not significantly different, so you can go to any one of them without worry.

If I had to point out the differences, Hangukgjip was once selected by the Michelin Guide, and it is conveniently located inside Jeonju Hanok Village, making it easy to visit. Seongmidang serves the rice already mixed with gochujang, which gives it a firm and fluffy texture. At the other restaurants, the rice and gochujang are served separately, so diners mix them according to their own taste, which means the final flavor can vary depending on personal preference. Seongmidang is located near Jeolla Gamyeong, close to Hanok Village.

Gogung is located near Deokjin Park, so it is quite far from Hanok Village and usually requires a taxi ride. Since the taste is similar at all three places, it is best to choose based on where you are.

The price ranges from 18,000 to 20,000 won, which has become much more expensive than in the past.

If you are wondering which of Jeonju’s three famous bibimbap restaurants to choose, the good news is that the taste is quite similar at all of them. In most cases, it is best to simply pick the one closest to your travel route.
